Proteomics

The proteomics laboratory is primarily responsible for the development of new veterinary vaccines. Through biochemical methods and techniques the identification of various antigenic proteins that are derived from various microorganisms allow for the development of vaccines that can target a greater variety of disease causing pathogens. The purification of antigenic proteins also allows for greater vaccine formulations and the use in combinatorial vaccines.

The techniques utilised for proteomic analysis are well developed in the scientific community. Combining these techniques with computational analysis allows for accurate quantification and consistent analysis of antigenic proteins.

Proteomic techniques are also used for the quality assurance of various toxoid vaccines ensuring the desired composition and dose.
